More than 100 million people suffer from various types of chronic headaches. There are different types of causes of why people get headaches, such as stress, illness and allergies.


Here are some foods that can help relieve headaches, as reported by LIVESTRONG on Wednesday (05/18/2011):


1. Potato
Headaches are not only caused by dehydration but also because of the loss of electrolytes such as potassium. Eating foods rich in potassium can help alleviate headaches such as by replacing lost potassium. Potatoes contain lots of potassium, which is 100 mg a baked potato (with skin) can contain up to 600 mg of potassium.


2. Banana
Bananas are also high in potassium. Banana was pregnant with 467 mg of potassium, but also high magnesium (banana medium containing 10 percent of the recommended intake).


3. Watermelon
Dehydration is a common cause of headaches. Consider to drink more water or eat a lot of water-rich foods (like watermelon) to prevent headaches.


4. Fish
Fatty fish (like salmon, tuna and mackerel) act as a drug for migraine headache because it is rich in essential fatty acids, omega-3. Omega-3 fatty acids can inhibit the inflammation that often trigger migraines.


5. Ginger
